Run 1, Day 1. Historic lineup. Games on the slate: 3.
Today's slate: NBA · Preview & Predictions. See today's Fast Break · Classic and Fast Break · Pro.
Legends are back in Fast Break, and tonight's Historic board is built to celebrate them. This version of the game brings back, or introduces for the first time, the stat stuffers of years past: the Larry Birds, David Robinsons, and Patrick Ewings who filled box scores night after night, now sitting side by side in a lineup anyone can build.
The first Historic board of the season builds a five-player lineup from legends on tonight's six teams, and the optimal lineup at full price totals 349 RP and 211.5 Blend. Double-doubles and triple-doubles carry a bonus, so the all-around producers have an edge over players who excel in one category.
Historic is a different flavor of Fast Break from Classic and Pro. Classic and Pro score the five Moments you own against a daily objective in real NBA games, and each Moment can play only a set number of times per run. Historic scores five legends in simulated games built from career averages, with no Moment required and no uses per run. A 350 RP budget is the constraint instead, so the game is about finding the legend whose night is worth more than his rating.
Collections still make a difference. Owning a legend's Moment lowers his cost, by 5% for a Common or Fandom, 10% for a Rare, 15% for a Legendary, and 20% for an Ultimate, which can open room under the budget for one more standout and a higher placement each day. The costs in tonight's tables are full price, with no discount applied. How Fast Break Historic Works has the full breakdown of the mode, and How Fast Break Works in 2026-27 covers the season, including Run 1 and the Fast Break Finals.
Considerations
Run 1 begins tonight: this is Day 1, with three games on the slate (BOS @ DET, OKC @ SAS, PHI @ NYK), so the pool covers legends from six teams
Players are available based on the teams in action and your objective is to set the most optimal lineup based on RP and your collection
Double-doubles and triple-doubles provide a bonus, which is more valuable than a player who excels in a single stat category
The optimal no-discount lineup draws on three of the six teams: Oklahoma City and Boston each supply two players and New York supplies one. Detroit, San Antonio, and Philadelphia are not represented
Historic daily rewards (Top Shot credit): 1st $40; 2nd $30; 3rd $20; 4th $15; 5th $10; 6th–10th $5 each; 11th–20th $3 each; 21st–40th $1 each
