Opening night puts three games and six teams in play, and the first Classic objective is points only. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Brunson head the scoring board.
Tonight also starts Run 1, the first run of the 2026-27 season, which spans 13 calendar days from October 20 through November 1. It is the first run with a new way of counting how often a Moment can play: uses per run now come from a Moment's tier or its average sale price, whichever is higher, rather than from average sale price alone. A Rare that sells for $9 still gets two uses because its tier beats its price, a Rare that sells for $75 gets three because its price beats its tier, and Ultimates play every night. Our guide, How Fast Break Works in 2026-27, has the full table and the rest of the season.
That changes how a board like this one is read. It ranks every player on the slate against the day's objective but cannot see your collection, so over 13 days the question becomes which nights fit which players, not only who tops the list. Tonight's points-only objective is a clear example: a 120 PTS target works out to about 24 per player, and even the five highest projections on the board add up to 115.9, about four points short of it.
Every run also feeds the Fast Break Finals, the invite-only tournament from March 30 through April 11, 2027. Per Top Shot, a top-50 finish in any Classic or Pro run qualifies, and the top ten in the Classic Final earn a seat in an NBA Finals suite. Because the line is a top-50 finish and not a first-place one, a 13-day run is a planning exercise as much as a nightly one.
Considerations
Run 1 begins tonight and spans 13 calendar days, October 20 through November 1. Day 1 has three games on the slate (BOS @ DET, OKC @ SAS, PHI @ NYK), so only six teams are in play
Uses per run apply for the first time this season. A Moment's uses come from its tier or its average sale price, whichever is higher: a Rare that sells for $9 gets two, a Rare that sells for $75 gets three, and Ultimates are unlimited
No team has played yet this season, so year-to-date numbers are blank and no one is on a back-to-back
The objective is points only. A 120 PTS target works out to about 24 per player across five players, and only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (25.3) and Jalen Brunson (24.3) project above that. Jayson Tatum (23.6), Victor Wembanyama (21.4), and Cade Cunningham (21.3) follow, and six players project at 20 or higher. The top five projections combine for 115.9
Players out tonight: Devin Carter (BOS); Nikola Topic, Thomas Sorber, & Otega Oweh (OKC); Tobias Harris & Jayden Quaintance (SAS); Tacko Fall, Dominick Barlow, & Ariel Hukporti (PHI)
