Fever Ride a Three-Game Win Streak Into Dallas

Indiana Fever @ Dallas Wings | 7:00 PM ET | WNBA League Pass

Indiana enters third at 24-12, having gone 3-0 this past week against New York, Dallas, and Atlanta. Caitlin Clark posted 29 points and 10 assists in Friday's win over this same Wings team, then followed with 26 points and nine assists in an overtime win at Atlanta on Sunday. Dallas, eighth at 20-16, has stumbled to a 3-7 record over its last ten games, and the Wings are now without Azzi Fudd for the remainder of the season after she underwent knee surgery, a significant loss of outside shooting for an already-struggling roster.

Indiana's offense has statistically been one of the best the league has seen, and this marks the start of a five-game road trip for the Fever that continues through New York and Chicago. Dallas already lost to Indiana once this week, and a shorthanded roster facing a team playing this well is a difficult ask.

DraftKings has Indiana -3.5, with the total at 185.5. Given the recent head-to-head result and Dallas's extended slide, the number looks fair for a Fever team riding real momentum. Lean Indiana -3.5.

Dallas wins if the Wings' remaining shooters step up to fill the void left by Fudd's season-ending surgery, and Dallas snaps its 3-7 stretch against a team it just lost to.

Indiana wins if Clark continues the two-way brilliance that has defined the week, and the Fever carry their three-game streak into the start of a long road trip.

PICK

IND -3.5

O/U 185.5

Over ↑

Fever win and cover behind Clark's dominant week.

Sun Visit a Struggling Las Vegas Team

Connecticut Sun @ Las Vegas Aces | 9:00 PM ET | WNBA League Pass

KEY STAT

4-6

Las Vegas's record in August, including a five-game road trip and a coach ejection in Tuesday's loss to Atlanta.

Las Vegas has fallen from second to fourth in the standings amid a genuine slide, four losses in six games, and coach Becky Hammon was ejected in the second quarter of Tuesday's 97-82 loss to Atlanta. The Aces have leaned almost entirely on A'ja Wilson and Jackie Young, who have led the team in scoring in 31 of 37 games this season, a level of dependency that's caught up with them as the supporting cast has gone quiet.

Connecticut is eliminated from playoff contention at 9-25, but that also means Thursday is pure spoiler basketball with nothing to lose. A team playing free against a favorite in genuine turmoil is a live combination, even against the talent gap.

DraftKings has Las Vegas -14.5, with the total at 165.5. That's a massive number for a team that has lost four of six, and Connecticut's role as a free-swinging underdog with nothing to lose makes the full spread worth fading. Lean Connecticut +14.5.

Connecticut wins if they play loose with nothing left to lose, and Las Vegas's supporting cast continues to disappear the way it has for most of the last six games.

Las Vegas wins if Wilson and Young's individual talent overwhelms Connecticut regardless of the surrounding noise, and the Aces use Thursday to begin righting the ship after a difficult stretch.

PICK

CON +14.5

O/U 165.5

Under ↓

Aces win, but the full number is generous given their recent slide.

Dream Close the Night in Los Angeles

Atlanta Dream @ Los Angeles Sparks | 9:00 PM ET | WNBA League Pass

Atlanta enters fifth at 22-13 off Tuesday's win over Las Vegas, its most complete performance in weeks. Los Angeles, twelfth at 12-23, has been led by Nneka Ogwumike's 17.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, with Dearica Hamby and Rae Burrell rounding out a group of double-digit scorers that has kept the Sparks competitive despite the record.

DraftKings has Atlanta -8.5, with the total at 178.5. Atlanta's momentum off Tuesday's win over a quality Las Vegas team supports the favorite here, even on the second stop of a back-to-back road trip. Lean Atlanta -8.5.

Los Angeles wins if Ogwumike, Hamby, and Burrell's collective scoring continues to keep the Sparks competitive against a quality opponent, and Atlanta shows fatigue from Tuesday's emotional win.

Atlanta wins if the Dream carry their form from Tuesday's win over Las Vegas directly into Los Angeles, and their talent gap simply proves decisive.

PICK

ATL -8.5

O/U 178.5

Over ↑

Dream win and cover off real momentum from Tuesday's win.

What to Watch For Tonight.

Las Vegas's genuine turmoil, four losses in six games and a coach ejection Tuesday, makes their game against a house-money Connecticut team the most interesting watch of the night regardless of the talent gap. Indiana's dominant week, capped by Clark's 29-10 and 26-9 lines, carries real momentum into the start of a five-game road trip. And Atlanta looks to build on Tuesday's statement win over Las Vegas against a scrappy but overmatched Los Angeles team.
