NFL Recap | November 1, 2026
Twelve games on Sunday, and the three we wrote up all turned on something nobody could have planned for. Lamar Jackson's return lasted one pass, and Buffalo ran away from a Baltimore team playing its third quarterback, 36-10. Denver took the AFC West lead from Kansas City on a 51-yard catch-and-run and a 5-yard touchdown with 1:56 left, then sacked Patrick Mahomes on fourth-and-goal with four seconds left. Washington held Philadelphia to nothing after the first quarter on Sunday night. The early window also gave us two overtime games, Joe Burrow throwing for 462 and five touchdowns in one of them. Here's how it went down, every card graded, and where the record stands.
Jackson Leaves After One Pass, and Buffalo Runs Away From a Baltimore Team Down to Its Third Quarterback
Baltimore Ravens 10, Buffalo Bills 36
Lamar Jackson's return lasted one snap. His first throw, at 10:04 of the first quarter, fell incomplete toward Zay Flowers, he was hurt on the play, and Tyler Huntley and Joe Fagnano took the rest of the game; ESPN's postgame injury list has him out with a thumb. Buffalo had already scored by then: Josh Allen's 1-yard sneak on fourth-and-goal at 10:10 capped a 10-play, 60-yard opening drive, and Tyler Bass's 56-yarder at 6:05 made it 10-0. Baltimore answered in two plays after Broderick Washington Jr. intercepted Allen at the Buffalo 17 at 4:17, Derrick Henry scoring from the 2 at 3:18 for 10-7.
The second quarter is where it got away. Huntley was sacked by Cole Bishop at 14:10 and fumbled, Kaleb Elarms-Orr recovered at the Baltimore 20, and that became Bass's 22-yard field goal at 9:50, 13-7. Tyler Loop's 34-yard try struck the left upright at 7:41, Davison Igbinosun intercepted Fagnano's throw for Flowers at 1:21, and Bass's 51-yarder at 0:09 sent it to the half 16-7. Loop's 26-yarder at 11:28 of the third got Baltimore within 16-10, and then Allen found DJ Moore deep down the middle for 49 at 9:44 and James Cook III scored from the 5 at 8:59, 23-10. Allen's 40-yard throw to Dalton Kincaid at 13:45 of the fourth set up his 11-yard touchdown to Moore at 12:18 (the two-point pass failed), Fagnano was sacked by Deone Walker at 9:39 and lost the ball to Greg Rousseau at the Baltimore 31, and Allen's 23-yarder to Kincaid at 5:58 closed it at 36-10.
Allen finished 21-of-34 for 289 yards and two touchdowns with the one interception, plus 30 rushing yards and the sneak; Cook ran 21 times for 80 and a score, Kincaid caught four for 86 and a touchdown, Moore four for 82 and a touchdown, and Khalil Shakir five for 64. Buffalo outgained Baltimore 426-144, held the ball for 37:36 and went 4-of-5 on fourth down. Fagnano was 10-of-21 for 91 yards with the interception and three sacks, Huntley 2-of-4 for no yards, and Henry had 53 yards on 11 carries. Baltimore was 3-of-13 on third down and gave it away three times; Roquan Smith's 11 tackles led the defense. Buffalo is 6-1; Baltimore is 4-4.
THE CARD, GRADED · BAL @ BUF
Side BUF -3 (Lean) · closing number BUF -3 · Buffalo won by 26, 23 points past the number · cleared
Total Over 54.5 (Lean) · closing number 54.5 · 46 points, 8.5 under the number · missed
The card leaned on the schedule, a rested Buffalo at home against a short-handed Baltimore line, and the number never left 3; Jackson's exit on the first series turned a key-number lean into a 26-point margin. The over was built on Buffalo's games going over in five of six and the highest total on the board, and a Baltimore offense that managed 144 yards with its backups left it 8.5 short.
Coleman's 51-Yard Catch and a 5-Yard Run With 1:56 Left Put Denver Alone in First in the AFC West
Kansas City Chiefs 24, Denver Broncos 28
Kansas City led for most of the afternoon. Wil Lutz's 39-yarder at 9:43 of the first opened it, Patrick Mahomes found Rashee Rice from 11 at 6:04 for 7-3, and Lutz's 45-yarder at 14:08 of the second cut it to 7-6. Then, on third-and-10 from his own 27 at 7:40, Mahomes threw short left to Emmett Johnson and Johnson ran 73 yards for a 14-6 lead. Bo Nix answered with a 12-play, 69-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard throw to Jaylen Waddle on fourth-and-goal at 1:15, 14-13, and Mahomes' 38-yard pass to Johnson at 1:02 set up Harrison Butker's 45-yarder at 0:19 for a 17-13 halftime lead.
Mahomes' 4-yard touchdown to Noah Gray at 1:38 of the third, the end of an 11-play, 63-yard drive, made it 24-13. Denver went 80 yards in nine plays, Nix throwing 2 yards to Nate Adkins on fourth-and-goal at 8:55 of the fourth and then to Waddle for two, 24-21. Kansas City's next drive took 11 plays and 6:24 off the clock and ended with Butker's 54-yard attempt wide right at 2:36. Two plays later, at 2:31, Nix threw short right to Jonah Coleman and Coleman ran 51 yards to the Kansas City 5, and Coleman scored from there at 1:56, 28-24. Mahomes drove back: 32 yards to Travis Kelce at 1:32 put the ball at the Denver 18, and the Chiefs reached the 1 before a false start at 0:04 pushed fourth-and-goal back to the 6, where Malcolm Roach sacked Mahomes to end it.
Mahomes was 30-of-41 for 321 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions; Johnson caught five for 128 and a score, Kelce five for 67 and Rice seven for 53 and a touchdown, and Kenneth Walker III ran 21 times for 69. Kansas City gained 399 yards and was flagged 11 times for 105. Nix was 20-of-32 for 222 and two touchdowns, Coleman had 41 rushing yards and the touchdown plus four catches for 63, Courtland Sutton caught four for 53, and Waddle three for 39 and a score. Denver was 2-of-11 on third down but 2-for-2 on fourth and 3-for-3 in the red zone, and Alex Singleton had 14 tackles and a sack. Denver is 6-2 and 4-0 at home; Kansas City is 5-2.

Total Under 40.5 (Lean) · preview number 40.5, closing number 41.5 · 52 points, 10.5 over the closing number · missed
The card was driven by the trend, Denver 5-2 against the number and 3-0 at home with Kansas City scoring three the week before, and the market agreed all the way through the number, moving from Kansas City by 1.5 to Denver by 1.5 at kickoff; the margin landed at 4, clear of both. The under was built on the lowest total of the afternoon and Denver's games running under, and Mahomes' 321 yards alone made that moot by the third quarter.
Philadelphia Scores 10 in the First Quarter and Nothing After It, and Washington's Defense Takes Over on Sunday Night
Philadelphia Eagles 10, Washington Commanders 27
The first quarter belonged to Philadelphia. Andrew Mukuba intercepted Jayden Daniels in the end zone at 12:25, a 40-yard drive produced Jake Elliott's 40-yarder at 6:10, and when Chig Okonkwo fumbled after an 11-yard catch at 5:34 and Zack Baun recovered at the Washington 26, Saquon Barkley scored from the 3 three plays later at 4:27 for 10-0. Drew Stevens' 56-yarder at 0:28 got Washington on the board, and the Commanders tied it with an 11-play, 89-yard drive, Daniels throwing 8 yards to Stefon Diggs at 4:56 of the second. Stevens' 39-yarder at 0:19 made it 13-10 at the half.
Philadelphia never scored again. Tanner McKee was sacked by Dorance Armstrong at 2:59 of the third and fumbled, Charles Omenihu recovered at the Washington 40, and on the next snap at 2:51 Daniels went deep right to Treylon Burks for 53 yards to the Philadelphia 7; the Eagles held, and Stevens' 25-yarder at 1:33 made it 16-10. Philadelphia's answer was a 15-play, 57-yard drive that took 7:35 and ended with Elliott's 36-yard field goal wiped out by an illegal formation and his 41-yard retry striking the left upright at 9:01 of the fourth. Daniels found Antonio Williams for 30 at 8:19, Stevens' 42-yarder at 3:43 made it 19-10, Rasul Douglas intercepted McKee on fourth-and-25 at 2:28 and returned it 22 yards to the Philadelphia 37, and Rachaad White ran 33 yards at 2:18 and scored from the 1 at 1:52, with Austin Ekeler adding the two-point run for 27-10.

Stevens made four of five, and Washington ran for 135. The card leaned on the spot, a road underdog off Monday night against a home favorite off a bye, and the market moved half a point toward Philadelphia by kickoff; Washington scored 24 unanswered after the first quarter and the margin was never close to the number. The over was built on Washington's games running over against the lowest total on the board, and five sacks, two turnovers and four Stevens field goals where touchdowns might have been left it 3.5 short.
The Rest of the Slate
Pittsburgh 27, Cleveland 6: Deshaun Watson was sacked eight times. Buffalo and Denver Take Control of Their Divisions, Burrow Throws for 462, and the Early Window Goes to Overtime Twice
Buffalo is 6-1 and alone atop the AFC East, Denver is 6-2 and a half-game clear of Kansas City in the West, and Pittsburgh is 6-2 and 4-0 at home after holding Cleveland to six.
