NBA Preview | October 24, 2026
Saturday has eight games and a lot of tired legs: 11 of the 16 teams played Friday night. Three of the eight carry the most interesting questions. Philadelphia, 2-0 after wins over New York and Cleveland, hosts a Bucks team still looking for its first win of the season, with LeBron James listed as questionable. Victor Wembanyama's Spurs, somehow 0-2, visit a Dallas team waiting on Cooper Flagg's shoulder. And Stephen Curry's Warriors, also 0-2, finish the night in Phoenix on the second half of a back-to-back. Those three are free; the other five cards are in Tome Intel. All times are Eastern.
Philadelphia Is 2-0; Milwaukee Is Still Looking for Itself
Milwaukee Bucks @ Philadelphia 76ers | 7:30 PM ET | NBA TV
KEY STAT
12.5
The spread, the largest on Saturday's board. The book expects a rested 2-0 team to handle a Bucks team playing its second game in two nights.
Philadelphia has done exactly what a new team is supposed to do in its first week: win, and learn while winning. The 76ers beat the Knicks at the Garden on Tuesday and then Cleveland 114-106 at home on Thursday, when Tyrese Maxey scored 32 and LeBron James grabbed 10 rebounds against the team he turned down this summer. The concern is James himself, listed as questionable with low back and sciatica management at 41, along with Dean Wade (ankle). The frontcourt depth is still short three players.
Milwaukee is 0-2 in its first week after the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, and the scores show a team that can score but hasn't figured out how to stop anyone. The Bucks lost 128-116 in Washington on Wednesday and 132-125 at home to Chicago on Friday, when Tyler Herro scored 34 and Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Both of those games went over the total. Saturday is the second night of a back-to-back, and Milwaukee's injury report is pending as of this article.
If James sits, the margin question changes: Philadelphia's starting group has been carried by Maxey either way, but the 12.5 assumes a full-strength rotation against a tired opponent. The matchup to watch is Herro and Kyle Kuzma against a 76ers defense that has held both opponents under 110.
Milwaukee wins if Herro keeps scoring the way he did Friday, Myles Turner keeps Joel Embiid honest on the perimeter, and the Bucks defend well enough to keep a tired night close.
Philadelphia wins if Maxey keeps up his pace, Embiid gets to the line against a frontcourt playing its second game in two nights, and the defense that held Cleveland and New York under 110 shows up again.
Lean Milwaukee +12.5 (Strong), and lean the under 233.5 (Lean).

Driven by the number. Our number has Philadelphia by about seven after two wins, which is a big margin for a team that started 2-0, but nowhere near the 12.5 the book is asking against a Bucks team on a back-to-back. Strong is the size of that gap. James's back is the status that matters most before tip.
Wembanyama's 0-2 Spurs Visit a Dallas Team Waiting on Flagg
San Antonio Spurs @ Dallas Mavericks | 8:00 PM ET | NBA League Pass
KEY STAT
0-2
San Antonio's record after losses to Oklahoma City and Houston, both by four points or more. Last season's Western Conference champions are still looking for their first win.
Nobody expected the Spurs to be winless on the first Saturday of the season. They lost 116-104 at home to Oklahoma City on Tuesday and 114-110 to Houston on Friday, when Victor Wembanyama had 25 points and 13 rebounds, Dylan Harper scored 20 and De'Aaron Fox played through his wrist with 19 points and nine assists. Alperen Şengün's 29 was the difference. Saturday is the second night of a back-to-back for San Antonio against a team who also will be playing the second night of a back-to-back.
Dallas has the bigger question. The Mavericks won 121-105 in Indiana on Friday, with Kyrie Irving scoring 24 and P.J. Washington adding 20 and 13 rebounds, but Cooper Flagg left late in the first half after Aaron Nesmith fouled him hard from behind on a breakaway, and he landed on his left shoulder. Nesmith was given a flagrant foul, and Dusty May said afterward that Flagg would be evaluated over the next couple of days. One injury feed already lists him out, but the official report hadn't been filed as of this article.
A line of 11.5 points for a road team on a back-to-back says the market expects Flagg to sit. If he does, the matchup is Wembanyama against a Dallas frontcourt already missing Dereck Lively II and Santi Aldama, which is the kind of night that can get away from a home team quickly.
San Antonio wins if Wembanyama dominates a short-handed Dallas frontcourt, Fox and Harper keep the ball moving on tired legs, and the Spurs finally close a game.
Dallas wins if Irving carries the offense the way he did in Indiana, Washington and the wings win the rebounding battle, and the Mavericks turn Spurs fatigue into transition points.
Lean Dallas +11.5 (Strong), and lean the under 230.5 (Lean).

Lean DAL +11.5 (Strong) · Under ↓ 230.5 (Lean)
Driven by the number, and this is the widest gap we've printed. Two games in, our number rates Dallas ahead of a San Antonio team that has lost twice, and it knows nothing about Cooper Flagg's shoulder, which is a big part of why the book has the Spurs by 11.5. Read Strong here as a very large cushion, not a view that Dallas is the better team.
An 0-2 Warriors Team Ends a Back-to-Back in Phoenix
Golden State Warriors @ Phoenix Suns | 10:00 PM ET | NBA TV
KEY STAT
83
Points Phoenix scored in its opener, a 124-83 loss in Portland on Wednesday. The Suns have had two days since to think about it; the Warriors played Friday.
Golden State's first week has gone sideways. The Warriors lost by 22 to the Lakers on Wednesday and 111-108 at home to Memphis on Friday, when Stephen Curry scored 24 but needed 15 shots to get there and Yaxel Lendeborg had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody and Kristaps Porziņģis were out as of Friday, and Saturday is the second night of a back-to-back for a team whose best player is 38.
Phoenix has only played once, and it was rough: a 41-point loss in Portland in which Devin Booker scored 23 and no one else reached 11. Mark Williams is out after shoulder surgery, Oso Ighodaro is doubtful and Luke Kennard is questionable. The Suns have had two days off since, which is a big part of why the book has them by 8.5.
The matchup is Booker against a Warriors backcourt playing its second game in two nights. If Curry's legs are there, Golden State's ball movement should find better looks than Phoenix allowed in Portland; if not, this is a long night to close a long week.
Golden State wins if Curry finds his shot after a 5-of-15 night, Draymond Green controls the pace, and the Warriors make Phoenix's thin frontcourt defend in space.
Phoenix wins if Booker gets help from Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks, the Suns use their rest advantage in the second half, and they defend better than they did in Portland.
Lean Golden State +8.5 (Strong), and lean the over 222.5 (Toss-up).

Lean GSW +8.5 (Strong) · Over ↑ 222.5 (Toss-up)
Driven by the number. Phoenix's 41-point loss in Portland is still most of what our number knows about the Suns, and it keeps them close to a Warriors team that is 0-2 and tired. Strong is the gap against a book that has priced the rest advantage; the total sits within two points.

What to Watch For Saturday.
Watch whether James suits up in Philadelphia, whether Flagg is in uniform in Dallas, and how Curry's legs hold up on the second night in Phoenix. Most of tonight's teams are on a back-to-back, so the rotations to watch are as much about minutes as matchups. That's eight cards on the side and eight on the total, three free and five in Tome Intel. We'll have the recap Sunday with every card graded.
