NBA Preview | November 1, 2026

Sunday has four games, and the clocks fell back overnight, so every time here is Eastern Standard (five hour difference compared to UTC). Boston, 4-1, visits an Orlando team that just scored 121 in Toronto without its two best players. Brooklyn, still looking for its first win, visits an Indiana team that has lost two straight, the latest without Tyrese Haliburton. And Scottie Barnes brings a 41-point night to Los Angeles to face Luka Dončić's Lakers. Those three are free. The fourth game, Clippers at Warriors at 8:30 PM ET, got its line Sunday morning with Stephen Curry (knee) and Draymond Green (back) listed out, and its card is in Tome Intel. Lines below are as of Sunday morning.

Orlando Scored 121 Without Banchero and Suggs; Boston Comes to Town

Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic | 3:30 PM ET | NBA League Pass

KEY STAT

121

Points Orlando scored in Friday's 121-114 win in Toronto, without Paolo Banchero or Jalen Suggs. Desmond Bane had 28 and Franz Wagner 26 with 11 assists.

Orlando found an offense without its stars. The Magic won 121-114 in Toronto on Friday with Desmond Bane scoring 28, Franz Wagner putting up 26 points and 11 assists, Wendell Carter Jr. adding 20 and Anthony Black 17 with 10 assists. That's their second win in five games, and they've covered two. The Magic remain without Banchero, Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, Izaiyah Nelson and Noah Penda.

Boston is 4-1 after beating Chicago 125-111 on Friday, with Payton Pritchard scoring 30, Jayson Tatum 26 with seven rebounds and seven assists, and Paul George 18 with eight assists. Mitchell Robinson is listed as questionable for rest, and Devin Carter remains out with an illness.

The public is on Boston, with 67% of tickets on the Celtics, and 65% are on the over after the total dropped two points overnight. The matchup is Tatum and George against a Wagner-led Magic offense that has found a rhythm without its two best scorers.

Boston wins if Pritchard and Tatum keep scoring the way they did Friday, the Celtics win the three-point battle, and Boston's depth wears down a short Orlando rotation.

Orlando wins if Wagner and Bane keep up Friday's pace, Carter Jr. holds his own inside, and the Magic slow Boston's shooters.

Lean Orlando +6.5 (Strong), and lean the over 220.5 (Strong).

THE CARD · BOS @ ORL

The line BOS -6.5 · total 220.5 · DraftKings (spread unchanged from the open, total down 2)

Our number ORL +1.5 · total 230.7

So far ORL 2-3 ATS, 3-2 O/U

The public 67% of tickets on BOS · 65% on the over (SportsbookReview, as of Nov. 1)

Lean ORL +6.5 (Strong) · Over ↑ 220.5 (Strong)

Driven by the number. Orlando just scored 121 in Toronto without Paolo Banchero or Jalen Suggs, and our number has the Magic within two points at home. The total dropped two points overnight, which pushed our total gap past 10 points; the side gap is now exactly five, the Strong threshold.

Brooklyn's First Win Chance Comes Against a Short-Handed Indiana

Brooklyn Nets @ Indiana Pacers | 5:00 PM ET | NBA League Pass

KEY STAT

0-5

Brooklyn's record after Friday's 110-94 home loss to Detroit. The Nets have still covered two of their five games.

Brooklyn is still winless. The Nets lost 110-94 at home to Detroit on Friday, with Moritz Wagner scoring 16 off the bench, Julius Randle 15 and Michael Porter Jr. 13. Mikel Brown Jr. and Egor Demin are out.

Indiana's injury list keeps growing. The Pacers lost 145-125 in Miami on Friday, their second straight loss, with Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) out, as Giannis Antetokounmpo had 31, 18 and 10. Quenton Jackson scored 24 and Andrew Nembhard had 22 and nine assists. Ivica Zubac, T.J. McConnell, Ben Sheppard and Johnny Furphy are also out, Aaron Nesmith is probable and Obi Toppin is questionable with back soreness.

The matchup is Nembhard and Pascal Siakam against a Brooklyn team that has struggled to score, and whether Randle and Porter can make Indiana's thin frontcourt work.

Brooklyn wins if Randle and Porter get going early, Wagner keeps producing off the bench, and the Nets take advantage of an Indiana defense that just gave up 145.

Indiana wins if Nembhard keeps running the offense, Siakam finds his shot after a 5-of-17 night, and the Pacers' depth outlasts a Nets team still looking for its first win.

Lean Indiana -3.5 (Toss-up), and lean the over 231.5 (Toss-up).

THE CARD · BKN @ IND

The line IND -3.5 · total 231.5 · DraftKings (spread moved 1 toward Brooklyn from the open, total unchanged)

The public 72% of tickets on IND · 53% on the under (SportsbookReview, as of Nov. 1)

Lean IND -3.5 (Toss-up) · Over ↑ 231.5 (Toss-up)

Driven by the number. Our number lands within two points of the book on the side and inside our threshold on the total. Brooklyn is 0-5 but has covered twice; Indiana has lost two straight and is without Tyrese Haliburton.

Scottie Barnes Brings a 41-Point Night to Los Angeles

Toronto Raptors @ Los Angeles Lakers | 9:00 PM ET | NBA League Pass

KEY STAT

41

Walker Kessler had 10 and 13 and is still listed as available with his finger splint. Adou Thiero is out and Ziaire Williams is questionable.

The matchup is Barnes against a Lakers defense that just gave up 31 to Curry, and Dončić against a Toronto team without its best perimeter defender in Leonard.

Toronto wins if Barnes keeps attacking, Quickley and Poeltl give him help, and the Raptors make the Lakers defend for 48 minutes.

Los Angeles wins if Dončić and Reaves bounce back from Friday, Kessler wins the glass, and the Lakers' defense keeps Barnes from taking over again.

Lean Toronto +4.5 (Lean), and lean the under 227.5 (Toss-up).
