WNBA Recap | June 27, 2026
Three games on the Saturday slate, and all three produced decisive results. Phoenix built a lead in the fourth quarter and held on against a Toronto team that played evenly through three quarters but simply ran out of answers once the Mercury found their transition rhythm. Indiana made quick work of the Sparks in a dominant three-quarter performance built on Mitchell's efficiency, Boston's near-perfect shooting, and 20 fast-break points. And Seattle put Atlanta away emphatically, shooting 60.9 percent from three and getting a 24-point, 11-rebound double-double from Flau'jae Johnson in one of the Storm's best team performances of the season. Here's how it all went down.
Copper Carries Mercury Past Tempo as Fourth-Quarter Push Seals It
Phoenix Mercury 89, Toronto Tempo 80
Toronto led by as many as eight in this game and matched Phoenix quarter by quarter through three frames. The Mercury found their rhythm in the fourth, outscoring the Tempo 24-14 in the final frame on the back of Copper's relentless paint attacks and 17 fast-break points that kept Toronto's defense scrambling. Final: 89-80, and Phoenix picks up a quality road win.
Copper was Phoenix's engine. She went 10-of-15 from the field (9-of-11 inside, 81.8 percent on two-pointers) for 27 points at 72.9 percent true shooting with eight fast-break points on three transition conversions, five rebounds, and eight fouls drawn. Her ability to get into the paint at will and draw contact defined how Phoenix built their fourth-quarter advantage. Valeriane Ayayi was the most complete individual performer, going 7-of-14 (2-of-5 from three, 4-of-4 FT) for 20 points at 63.5 percent true shooting with six rebounds, a block, and a steal. DeWanna Bonner made a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds on 4-of-13 from the field) with three steals and a tech foul, her rebounding critical during Phoenix's defensive stretches. Lexi Held provided 16 points on 5-of-11 (3-of-6 from three) with six fast-break points and a perfect 3-of-3 from the line. Phoenix went 37 percent from three (10-of-27) and 13 points off Toronto's 12 turnovers.
Toronto competed hard but faded. Julie Allemand was magnificent, going 4-of-6 from the field (3-of-5 from three) for 11 points at 91.7 percent true shooting with a double-double (10 assists, seven rebounds), zero turnovers, and a 5.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Her 10-assist, zero-turnover game was the cleanest playmaking performance of the day. Tima Pouye came off the bench to shoot 5-of-10 (3-of-7 from three) for 13 points at 65 percent true shooting with four assists (4.0 ratio). Nyara Sabally had 14 points on 5-of-10 but fouled out with five personals, and Maria Conde shot 28.6 percent from the field (1-of-8 from three) for 10 points with six assists and three steals. Toronto's 50 percent free throw shooting (6-of-12) was the margin that cost them in a nine-point game.

Mitchell Goes 9-of-13 as Fever Dismantle Sparks in Three Quarters
Los Angeles Sparks 87, Indiana Fever 111
Indiana won this game in three quarters and spent the fourth collecting what the lead had earned. The Fever built a lead as large as 35, shot 55.2 percent from the field, went 88.9 percent on fast-break attempts (8-of-9), and generated 20 transition points while holding LA to 20 percent from three (4-of-20). LA never led. Final: 111-87, and Indiana secures another comprehensive home win.
Mitchell was Indiana's star, going 9-of-13 from the field (4-of-6 from three, 4-of-4 FT) for 26 points at a remarkable 88.1 percent true shooting mark with eight fast-break points on three perfect transition conversions. She scored efficiently at every level and was the offensive catalyst when Indiana was building their biggest runs. Boston was the most efficient Indiana contributor, going 5-of-6 from the field (including a perfect 4-of-4 on two-pointers) for 17 points at 98.4 percent true shooting with seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and four perfect second-chance conversions. Her 83.3 percent field goal mark on six attempts reflected a night where she never wasted a possession. Tyasha Harris provided one of the best bench performances of the game, going 5-of-8 (2-of-4 from three) for 16 points at 78.4 percent true shooting with five rebounds and three assists. Monique Billings rounded out Indiana's interior production with 15 points on 6-of-10 (61.5 percent true shooting), five fast-break points, and a plus-38 as the best individual plus/minus of the game.
Los Angeles had no answers for Indiana's transition offense and interior dominance. Ogwumike was the Sparks' best performer, going 7-of-13 for 17 points at 57.6 percent true shooting with seven rebounds, two blocks, and three steals, competitive throughout in a losing effort. Hamby fouled out with six personal fouls and a minus-37, the worst plus/minus of the game, shooting 42.9 percent for 15 points. Burrell went 4-of-15 from the field (26.7 percent) for 11 points at 32.8 percent true shooting. Atkins was the one efficient LA performer, going 5-of-8 for 12 points at 75 percent true shooting. The Sparks' 20 percent three-point rate (4-of-20) and 10 total turnovers that Indiana converted into six points reflected a team that had no offensive rhythm outside of the paint.

Johnson and Fam Lead Seattle's Shooting Clinic as Storm Top Dream
Atlanta Dream 90, Seattle Storm 105
Atlanta struggled from the start. Seattle opened with a 21-13 first quarter, went on a 12-0 unanswered run at one point, and built a lead as large as 17 behind one of the most efficient shooting performances from the perimeter this season. The Storm shot 60.9 percent from three (14-of-23) and 60.3 percent from the field overall, generating 27 assists on 38 made field goals. Atlanta's 24.1 percent from three (7-of-29) against Seattle's 60.9 was the gap that defined the outcome. Final: 105-90.
Johnson was Seattle's headliner, going 9-of-12 from the field (2-of-3 from three) for 24 points at 84.5 percent true shooting with 11 rebounds (the most of any individual across Saturday's three games), two steals, and four second-chance conversions, completing a double-double. She scored at 83.3 percent conversion inside the arc (7-of-8) and forced contact consistently. Awa Fam put together the most efficient individual shooting night of the game, going 8-of-9 from the field (5-of-6 from three, a perfect 3-of-3 on two-pointers) for 21 points at 116.7 percent calculated true shooting. Five of her nine made field goals came from three-point range, and she went 100 percent on every area of the floor. Hiedeman ran the offense brilliantly, going 6-of-10 (2-of-5 from three) for 20 points at 79.1 percent true shooting with a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line, six assists against one turnover, and a 6.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Malonga had a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double on 7-of-13 shooting despite six turnovers and a team-high six personal fouls.
Atlanta's best individual was Howard, who bounced back from her 2-of-16 night the previous game to shoot 10-of-17 (4-of-10 from three) for 27 points at 73.7 percent true shooting with three assists and a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Her 27 points were the most of any Atlanta player but her minus-17 and the 0-for-2 midrange performance reflected how much Seattle's defense dictated the terms of engagement. Reese had 17 points on 40 percent shooting with nine rebounds, drawing nine fouls and going 9-of-11 from the line. Canada had 10 assists but three turnovers and was minus-16. Gray shot 31.3 percent for 15 points with five fouls. Atlanta's 18 turnovers against a Storm team that generated 8 points off those miscues while allowing Seattle to operate at 60-plus percent efficiency was the structural story of how a competitive game became a 15-point result.

PHO, IND, & SEA Wins.
Saturday's three games reinforced the standings picture with one day remaining before the Commissioner's Cup Final on June 30. Phoenix's road win keeps them competitive in the Western Conference stretch run, with Copper establishing herself as one of the league's most dangerous creators when she attacks the paint. Indiana is playing their best basketball since early in the season, and Mitchell's 88.1 percent true shooting night alongside Boston's 98.4 percent reflects a Fever offense that is as efficient as any team in the league right now. Seattle's 60.9 percent three-point night against Atlanta is a reminder of what this team is capable of when their perimeter shooting peaks. With June 30 arriving, the entire WNBA takes a brief pause for the Commissioner's Cup championship between Las Vegas and New York. The regular season resumes July 2.
Star of the Night: Awa Fam, Seattle Storm
21 points | 8-of-9 FG | 5-of-6 from three | 116.7% true shooting | 1 rebound | 1 assist | 4 turnovers | plus-15
Fam's 116.7 percent calculated true shooting on nine attempts is the most efficient individual shooting performance of the day across all three games. She went 100 percent from every area of the floor she attacked, made five of six threes, and converted 100 percent inside the arc as well. Johnson's double-double is the stronger all-around argument, and the four turnovers are a genuine blemish, but no player shot the ball the way Fam did on Saturday.
Dud of the Night: Allisha Gray, Atlanta Dream
15 points | 5-of-16 FG | 1-of-7 from three | 2 assists | minus-20 | 42.2% true shooting
Gray shot 31.3 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from three in a game where Atlanta needed perimeter production to match what Seattle was doing from beyond the arc. Five personal fouls and a minus-20 in a 15-point loss reflect a night where she was a defensive liability as well as an offensive drag. After her five-steal, 26-point performance earlier in the week, Saturday was the other side of that coin, and in a matchup where the three-point gap (60.9 to 24.1 percent) decided the outcome, her 1-of-7 from deep was among the most visible individual contributions to that disparity.
