Three games on Saturday's slate, and each had its own version of control. Caitlin Clark didn't need to be the story again. A day after her historic 45-point night, she settled into more of a facilitator role, and Kelsey Mitchell picked up the scoring load, leading all players with 33 points as Indiana pulled away for a comfortable 20-point win at home. The Fever led throughout, building their advantage to as many as 25 before cruising through the fourth quarter. Clark still contributed meaningfully with 17 points and seven assists, though seven turnovers reflected a more mistake-prone night after her historic performance the day before. Aliyah Boston added 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds and four assists, and Sophie Cunningham hit three of four three-point attempts for 11 points off the bench. Indiana's 22 assists on 37 made field goals and 30 points off New York's 17 turnovers reflected a team playing with real command from start to finish.

New York had individual bright spots but never found a way to slow Indiana down. Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting, adding eight rebounds and three blocks. Jonquel Jones contributed 13 points and six rebounds, and Marine Johannes hit four threes for 12 points. But New York's 60 percent free throw shooting and their inability to generate stops in the third quarter, when Indiana outscored them 30-12, put the Liberty in a hole too deep to escape. Portland Fire 93, Minnesota Lynx 101

Minnesota set the tone from the opening tip, building a lead as large as 19 and controlling the pace for three quarters. Portland made things interesting late, winning the fourth quarter 33-26, but the Lynx's cushion was simply too large to threaten seriously. Final: 101-93, Minnesota improves to 20-6 and remains atop the Western Conference.

Natasha Howard was nearly perfect, going 7-of-8 from the field for 16 points at 90.1 percent true shooting with seven rebounds and three blocks. Olivia Miles posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists on a 5.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, adding four blocks. Kayla McBride added 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting with 10 fast-break points, and Dorka Juhasz contributed 12 points and five assists off the bench. Minnesota's 29 assists on 41 made field goals and their nine team blocks reflected complete control of the game whenever it mattered.

Portland competed hard, especially late, and had real individual performances to show for it. Carla Leite led the Fire with 21 points and seven assists, and Bridget Carleton added 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting (6-of-9 from three). Sarah Ashlee Barker contributed 21 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting. But Portland's slow start, allowing Minnesota to build a 24-16 first-quarter lead, put them in a hole that their strong finish couldn't fully erase. Portland falls to 11-15, ninth in the West.

Golden State Valkyries 74, Washington Mystics 69

Washington led after the first quarter and built as much as an eight-point cushion in the third, and for a stretch it looked like the Mystics might snap Golden State's momentum. The Valkyries had other plans. They flipped a five-point third-quarter deficit into control by dominating the fourth quarter 22-12, closing the game out and extending their winning streak. Final: 74-69, Golden State improves to 19-7 and continues their push up the Western Conference standings and extends their win streak to nine straight.

Veronica Burton was outstanding, posting a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists on a remarkable 11.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, adding five rebounds and two steals. Gabby Williams led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting, adding five assists and three steals. Kayla Thornton hit three of six three-point attempts for 11 points, and Golden State's bench produced 25 points, a meaningful depth advantage that helped weather Washington's third-quarter push. The Valkyries' 36.4 percent three-point shooting and their eight steals converted into 22 points were the numbers that mattered most once the fourth quarter turnaround began.

Washington had control for stretches and let it slip away late. Shakira Austin posted a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds on 45.5 percent shooting, going 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Sonia Citron added 12 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting, drawing seven fouls. But Washington's 26.1 percent three-point shooting and their inability to generate stops in the fourth quarter, when Golden State outscored them by 10, allowed a game they controlled for three quarters to slip away. Washington falls to 12-13, ninth in the East.
